Days off Together

Most people know that Aaron and I used to work together - that's how we met when I moved to Idaho about 5 years ago. When we started dating, we got so excited to have days off together. It didn't happen all the time, but because we were both the sub heads of our departments, our shifts were the same a lot of the time. When we would have our days off, we spent every second of them together. Not a lot has changed since then! When I first got my teaching job, Aaron switched positions to a Monday through Friday, 7-4 spot. It was amazing and we had so much time together - we would do anything and everything together. We are very content with just spending all out time together no matter what we are doing. Today when I got home from teaching summer school, we jumped in the car and started driving with Brinnley buckled in and chatting away. We both kept asking each other what we were doing and where we were going. We had a few things we wanted to get but other than that we didn't have any plans. We discussed inviting people over once we finished or backyard but decided against it because that's just not us. Of course, we will have people over but - you know when you watch those "House Hunters" shows? Well, the people ALWAYS talk about making sure they have space to entertain and how they love to entertain. That is NOT us. We would be the ones who would say, "We want a house for US, not for anyone else." We enjoy spending time with our families and such, but we aren't going to make our house a certain way for them and their needs!
Anyway - now that Aaron is a manager at his work, he rarely has weekends off. When he does, we love it. It's just like the days when it was just us two - now, we add Brinnley into the mix and we spend all day together. It doesn't matter what we do, we enjoy it together.
Last Sunday, on the 1st day of June - Aaron had the day off. We woke up at our regular time, about 7am, and decided to relax for a bit. We were going to wait around for Tyler, Aaron's brother, to get home so we could borrow his truck to go and buy a patio set we saw for the backyard. That wasn't going to be until about noon so we had a few hours to hang around - as we were playing with Brinnley in the living room, and before I could even take the first few sips of my morning coffee, Aaron jumps up and says he wanted to go play disc golf. He was looking through a few pictures on his phone of when him and Brinnley went and he wanted us all to go together to play outside.
So, off we went! Lathered up in sunscreen and her adorable hat, Brinnley had a blast. She walked wherever she wanted and followed daddy around, she even played the game a little bit! While Aaron played a few holes, Brinnley and I walked around and then went for a swing! She laughed and laughed and had such a great time! We don't get much time to do these things together and it was so much fun to be together as a family!
